(THUNDER BAY, ON) – Am event celebrating the upswing that the south downtown core is experiencing has been scheduled.
Below is a statement released by the event coordinators.
On Sunday September 15 from Noon – 4 pm, local businesses will be celebrating the beginning of a “new” Southside Vibe Campaign by holding a giant tailgate sale in the Violet St. Parking lot behind Barbies Bargains and Variety.
This event is sponsored by the CEDC, the FWBIA, The Hub Bazaar, Netnewsledger, and Barbies Bargains and Variety.
“Southside Vibe 2019” will see local musicians and artists, community stakeholders and over 40 businesses begin building a new vision and reputation for the south core.Advertisement
The event is aimed to invite the city at large and the local neighbourhood back downtown, meet the business owners and participate in a day of commerce and entertainment.
The Regional Multi-Cultural Youth Council will be using this event to fundraise for their association and will also be part of the hospitality team called the Southside Vibe Tribe.
Southside businesses, with the help of the FWBIA and other stakeholders, are motivated to see the revitalization of the south core and believes this event will help kickstart a new appreciation for their business community.
We have kept the rental fees for space at $20 to encourage participation. There are a few spaces still available to rent.
Live entertainment will be provided throughout the afternoon featuring Hip Hop artist Kross Kid, Comedians, Jesse “the jesta” Johnson and Aaron Gee. The ThunderCon characters will be in attendance along with “Hooper” Sheena Campbell
and learn how to paint rocks with Vanessa Aho for $2.Advertisement
