(THUNDER BAY, ON) – A north-side neighbourhood is in shambles after an afternoon blaze torched a home at 11 Walkover.
21 Thunder Bay Fire Rescue firefighters were on scene battling the fire. Smoke was seen billowing out of the front door of the home.
A second alarm was called and
Fire crews were seen removing what looked like an oxygen tank from the home and placing it on the front lawn.
A person was removed from the home and recieved medical attention from Superior North EMS Paramedics before being transported to hospital with life-threatening injuries.
Since the fire was defeated and the heat dissipated, Thunder Bay Fire Rescue had taped off the scene and Thunder Bay Police Service has been holding the location securely ever since.
One cruiser is at the front of the building and one at the back.

We will update you further with more information as it becomes available. The other two times this year that the Thunder Bay Police Service held a scene after a fire, both were due to fatalities.
