The REAL Concerned Citizens organized a cleanup effort of the McIntyre riverside to attempt to brighten up the area. After a few hours and some smelly bags gathered, the group made a difference.
The clean up went off without incident, and a lot of garbage was collected, bagged, and removed from the area.
3 adults and 2 kids went alongside the river from Shoppers Drug Mart, up to Mark’s at the Thunder Centre, totalling 12 bags of garbage picked up.
Cleanup Leader Ashlee Dawn told TRCCTB.COM in an interview that the river has a lot more garbage in either direction from where they cleaned, and that a return to the area for a future clean up is pretty much guaranteed.
Eric Klages and Corky Coriander also joined in the clean up efforts along with Kiki (child).
Our next cleanup will be May 6th, details will be posted later this week. Below are the photos from the cleanup today.
