NORTHWOOD ASSAULT WITH A WEAPON

(THUNDER BAY, ON) – An off duty Thunder Bay Police officer intervened in a confrontation between an adult male and two other men Wednesday evening.

The officer was in the parking lot of Northwood Plaza when he observed a male threatening two other men with a knife.

The officer approached the male and identified himself as police officer. The confrontation ended and the accused then entered a nearby store.

The officer phoned for assistance and Uniform Patrol officers arrived on scene. The accused was apprehended a short time later.

The two victims were not injured.

A 40-year-old Thunder Bay man has been charged with:
· Assault with a Weapon – CC 267(a)

The accused was later released for a future court date.

  1. Threatening and brandishing a knife and he’s back out on the street . Go figure . Time to build a super jail since the old one is so overcrowded that there’s nowhere to house these POS .
