(TORONTO, ON) – The Toronto Police Service would like to make the public aware that on Friday, October 19, 2018, at approximately 1:30 p.m., members of the Organized Crime Enforcement – Toronto Drug Squad attended five locations to enforce the provincial Cannabis Act.
These locations include:
- 66 Fort York Boulevard,
- 333 Spadina Avenue,
- 912 Danforth Avenue,
- 1506 Dundas Street West,
- 2655 Lawrence Avenue East
Eight people were charged and released on Part III Provincial Offenses Act summons.
Investigators, working cooperatively with the City of Toronto’s Municipal Licensing and Standards, issued interim closure orders on all five locations.
The Lawrence Ave location has since reopened along with one in City Square.
The Toronto Police Service will continue enforcement and would like to remind those operating illegal dispensaries that if they choose to stay open, they do so at their own risk.
