(THUNDER BAY, ON) – Numerous REAL Concerned Citizens have reported a power outage in their respective neighbourhoods. The outage appears to be impacting the south side at this moment.
Reports are coming in that indicate power is out in the following areas:
- Ogden school area.
- Catherine Street.
- Parts of Westfort.
- Archibald Street North.
- Wiley Street.
- Vickers Park area.
- Parts of Northwood.
- Forest Street.
- Parts of Edward and Begin Streets.
- Around Redwood Church.
- Leland and Arthur.
Hydro crews are expected to be deployed to handle the situation. Synergy is reporting that up to 1350 customers are currently without power. If you know an elder or vulnerable person that lives in the impacted area, it is advised that they should be checked up on to ensure they are ok.
Power is expected to be restored to all impacted areas by 1:00 pm today. Some areas may be restored earlier than 1:00pm. As of 10:00am there is no official reason given for the cause of the outage. Hydro has confirmed that hydro crews are currently enroute to begin diagnosing and repairing the issue.
Residents are reporting that there was a “loud bang” near the transformer station at Walsh and Sprague around 8:45am.

UPDATE @ 10:00am: Power has been restored in all areas according to Synergy.
