(THUNDER BAY, ON.) – On July 1, 2018 at approximately 4:40pm, officers from the North West Region Highway Safety Division of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) and the Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry (MNRF) conducted a Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere (RIDE) spot check on Highway 527.
The officers stopped the driver of a pick-up truck. While speaking with the driver, officers determined that the driver had been consuming alcohol. The driver was arrested and transported to detachment for further tests.
Jamie LAVALLEE, 42 years of age, from Thunder Bay was arrested and charged with:
- Operate a Motor Vehicle with Over 80 mgs of Alcohol contrary to section 253(1)(b) of the Criminal Code
- Driving While Under Suspension contrary to section 53(1) of the Highway Traffic Act.
He is to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Thunder Bay on August 7, 2018 to answer to the charges.
