TWO TBAY BOYS SLAPPED WITH DRUNK DRIVING CHARGES

(THUNDER BAY, ON) On Sunday, November 11, 2018, at approximately 1:03 p.m., officers from the Thunder Bay Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a report of a possible impaired driver on Highway 11/17 that was east bound, near Shabaqua.

An officer located the vehicle and conducted a traffic stop. While speaking with the driver, the officer determined that the driver had been consuming alcohol. The driver was arrested and further tests were conducted.

Denny STRUTINSKI, 45 years of age, from Thunder Bay was arrested and charged with:

  • Operate a Motor Vehicle with Over 80 mgs of Alcohol contrary to section 253(1)(b) of the Criminal Code.

He is to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Thunder Bay on December 14, 2018 to answer to the charge.

On Monday, November 12, 2018, at approximately 12:04 a.m., officers from Thunder Bay OPP responded to a report ofย aย possible impaired driver on Highway 11/17, on the Thunder Bay Expressway.

Officers located the vehicle and conducted a traffic stop.ย While speaking with the driver, officers determined that the driver had been consuming alcohol. The driver was arrested and further tests were conducted.

Kurt MARCINKO, 48 years of age, from Thunder Bay was arrested and charged with:

  • Impaired Operation of a Motor Vehicle contrary to section 253(1)(a) of the Criminal Code,
  • Operate a Motor Vehicle with Over 80 mgs of Alcohol contrary to section 253(1)(b) of the Criminal Code.

He is to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Thunder Bay on December 21, 2018 to answer to the charges

  1. When are people going to learn how dangerous this impaired driving is. How many innocents must die before the justice system makes the penalties severe enough to make a difference. Long suspended driving, jail time and heavy fines might help.

    1. I agree. Everyone has been educated for years about drunk driving but we still have losers behind the wheel who donโ€™t give a shit. Thankfully they were caught and no one was hurt.
