A vehicle has struck a cinder block structure in the yard behind the bus terminal and rested upon the rubble.
Multiple emergency crews were on scene, including Superior North EMS, Thunder Bay Police Service, and Thunder Bay Fire Rescue. Police have the nearby intersection of High Street South and Fourth Ave blocked off. One person has been taken to hospital with what appears to be serious injuries.
Police received multiple calls to attend the scene of a motor vehicle collision on Memorial Avenue between two vehicles at approximately 11:50 a.m. on April 4th, 2018.
The initial collision occurred in the 600 block of Memorial Avenue between two vehicles. The driver of a brown car remained on scene and was not injured.
The second vehicle continues northbound on Memorial Avenue and then onto Fourth Street.
The driver lost control of the vehicle resulting in a second collision with a building on the Thunder Bay Transit property.
An 86 year old local male was rushed to the Thunder Bay Regional Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.
The Thunder Bay Police Traffic Unit is still investigating the cause of the collisions.
