Youth Escapes Custody, Assaults Police, Attempts to Disarm Police.

(MARATHON, ON) – A youth, who cannot be named under the Youth Criminal Justice Act has been arrested and was held for a bail appearance this morning from the Marathon detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police.

The youth appeared in a Thunder Bay bail court via video from the Marathon detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police. Her Worship, Justice of the Peace Jennifer Neill was presiding along with Crown Attorney Pasloski and a duty counsel lawyer.

The youth was charged stemming from an incident on July 13th. Those charges are:

  • Fraudulently impersonate someone with intent to avoid arrest.
  • Escape lawful custody.
  • Assault police.
  • Assault police with intent to resist arrest.

There was also another incident on June 28th where the youth was arrested for consuming alcohol while on bail conditions not to. Further, there was an incident on May 21st 2019, those charges are:

  • Assault police with intent to resist arrest.
  • Attempt to disarm police.

The youth was not released today and will be held in custody pending a Monday court appearance. The youth will spend at least the night in jail.

  1. with those charges pending I am sorry he should spend a lot longer then one night in jail if he had gotten hold of the gun what would he have done with it shot the officer???? PROBABLY he does not sound like he is to stable to be out in the public with all the charges he has built up he might only be a youth but he sure seems to know what he was doing. I have no tolerance for that kind of stuff. It does not say whether he was Caucasian or indigenous
    would be nice to know just for curiosity sake!
